Mirror Aura — Refund Policy
Whether and how you can get a refund depends on where you bought your subscription. If you bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, Apple and Google handle the refund under their own policies, and we respect their process and decisions. If you bought on our website, EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal (with the limits explained below), and we'll also look at genuine problems — billing errors, duplicate charges, paid features that didn't work — case by case. Cancelling a subscription stops the next charge but is not itself a refund. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you.
1. Who we are
Mirror Aura ("we", "us", "our", or "Mirror Aura") is operated by Better Me SRL, a Romanian limited liability company.
For any refund question, contact us at contact@mirroraura.app.
This Refund Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where this policy and §7 of the Terms of Service describe the same thing, this policy is the more detailed source of truth.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to paid Mirror Aura subscriptions — the Apprentice and Adept tiers — purchased through any of our channels. The free Seeker tier involves no payment and so nothing here applies to it.
How a refund is handled depends entirely on where you made the purchase. There are three channels, and each is governed by different rules:
| Where you purchased | Who processes refunds | Governed by |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store (iOS app) | Apple | Apple's refund policy (see §3.1) |
| Google Play (Android app) | Google Play's refund policy (see §3.2) | |
| Our website | Our merchant of record (third-party seller of record), at our direction | This policy, §§4–6 |
You can always tell which channel you used by where the charge appears: an Apple or Google receipt for app-store purchases, or a receipt from our web payment provider for website purchases.
3. Purchases through the app stores
When you subscribe inside the iOS or Android app, payment is taken by Apple or Google under their own terms. We never see or store your payment-card details, and we cannot directly issue, deny, or reverse a charge made through an app store. For these purchases, the app store's own refund policy applies, and we respect Apple's and Google's refund processes and decisions.
3.1 Apple App Store (iOS)
Refunds for subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. To request one:
- ✦Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account, or
- ✦On your device, open Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → Account Settings → Purchase History, then request a refund for the relevant transaction.
Apple decides these requests under its own criteria. If you also contact us, we can offer guidance, but the outcome rests with Apple.
3.2 Google Play (Android)
Refunds for subscriptions purchased through Google Play are handled by Google under the Google Play refund policy. To request one:
- ✦Visit play.google.com → Account → Order history, or open the Google Play Store app → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history, and request a refund for the relevant order.
Google decides these requests under its own criteria. As with Apple, we respect Google's process and outcome, and can offer guidance if you contact us.
4. Website purchases — EU right of withdrawal
When you subscribe on our website, the purchase is sold and processed by a third-party merchant of record acting as the seller of record, who manages payments, applicable taxes, and refunds for web purchases at our direction.
If you are an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the moment a paid subscription is purchased, unless the digital service has already begun to be performed with your express prior consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose that right — in line with Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive.
We request that consent at the point of purchase. By buying a subscription and then using paid features within the 14-day window, you expressly ask us to begin performance immediately and acknowledge that you thereby waive your withdrawal right for the portion already provided.
To exercise a valid withdrawal right, contact us at contact@mirroraura.app or follow the instructions provided by the merchant of record at checkout. Where the right still applies, the refund is processed back to your original payment method.
5. Website purchases — goodwill refunds
Separately from the statutory withdrawal right, and at our discretion, we will consider a case-by-case refund for website purchases where something genuinely went wrong, such as:
- ✦A billing error or an obvious duplicate or accidental charge;
- ✦A failure to deliver the paid features you were charged for (for example, a technical fault that prevented access to a tier you paid for and that we could not resolve in reasonable time);
- ✦A charge taken after a valid cancellation that should have stopped it.
These goodwill refunds are not guaranteed and are decided individually. Requesting or receiving one does not waive any of your statutory rights, and we will never use a goodwill process to avoid an obligation the law places on us. To ask, email contact@mirroraura.app with your account email and the approximate date and amount of the charge.
6. Cancellation is not the same as a refund
Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal so you are not charged again. It does not retroactively refund the current billing period — you keep access to your paid features until the end of the period you already paid for.
You cancel:
- ✦App-store subscriptions — through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings, not from within Mirror Aura;
- ✦Website subscriptions — as described at checkout by the merchant of record.
Note: Deleting your Mirror Aura account does not automatically cancel an active paid subscription. Cancel the subscription through the relevant channel first, or you may continue to be billed. See Terms of Service §11.
7. What is generally non-refundable
Subject to your statutory rights and to the app-store policies above, the following are generally not refunded:
- ✦The already-used portion of a billing period once immediate performance has begun with your consent (see §4);
- ✦Unused time remaining after you cancel — you keep access until the period ends instead of receiving a refund (see §6);
- ✦Purchases where the applicable app store has reviewed and declined a refund request under its own policy.
Mandatory consumer-protection law overrides. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any refund or remedy that cannot be excluded under EU or Romanian consumer-protection law.
8. How to request a refund — quick guide
| You purchased through… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Request via reportaproblem.apple.com or your device's Purchase History. Apple decides. |
| Google Play | Request via play.google.com Order history or the Play Store app. Google decides. |
| Our website | Email contact@mirroraura.app (or use the merchant-of-record instructions from checkout). We apply §§4–5. |
If you're unsure which channel you used, email us at contact@mirroraura.app and we'll help you find the right route.
9. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes the mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under EU law or the law of your country of residence. EU consumers retain all statutory rights regardless of anything stated here, including the right to bring proceedings in their country of habitual residence and to use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When changes are material we will give notice in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
